1968 Volvo Amazon

This 1968 Volvo was brought to Canada from California and was extensively overhauled and upgraded as a father and daughter project in 1999. Since that time it has done around 40000 miles and has been trouble free and lovingly cared for. It is stored every winter and has never seen salt. It is reliable, burns no oil and has won several awards at the Canadian Volvo Club over the years. It comes with all service records back to 1968 including the original bill of sale and sales information. It was appraised at $8,500 in 2007.
The engine is the original B18 that was converted to B20F specification with a fuel injected head while keeping the original twin SU Carburettors. The transmission was replaced with an M41 with overdrive unit. All suspension bushes, shocks, brake components including lines and hoses were replaced. All wiring was inspected and replaced as required. Original air conditioning equipment was removed and is available with the car as well as selected spare parts including a Weber carburettor conversion kit and manifold.
The body is rust free except for one small spot on the lower part of one fender. New original pattern sound proofing and rubber floor mats were fitted as well as new headliner during a full repaint of the body shell. Window rubbers and door seals were all replaced.
This is a practical classic that turns heads. It has seen two weddings and a lot of life and is an ideal eclectic “mid century” vehicle that can be used and enjoyed as a daily driver. Export can be arranged if required.
